Week 7: Friday

1 Samuel 8:1-5:  In the selection, Samuel grew old. He put his sons in leadership over Israel. They were Joel and Abijah. However, they did not follow after their dad. So the people of Israel came together and said that they wanted a new king.I am tempted to be greedy. I can change by treating others the way I would want to be treated.

Week 7: Wednesday

  1 Samuel 1:1-28:  In the selection, Hannah was without child. She cried out to the Lord to give her a son. The Lord gave her a son. When crying out to the Lord, she promised to give him back to the Lord. A promise I have kept to the Lord is to live for him. I will always live for him.

Week 6: Friday

Ruth 2:1-23: In the selection, Ruth asked Naomi to go and pick up the left overs of grain. Naomi told her that she could go. While out in the fields, a man named Boaz noticed Ruth. He told her that he only wanted her to pick from his fields. My reputation has become an advantage when people take me as I am. Even when people don't know anything about me, they still accept me.

Week 6: Thursday

Ruth 1:1-22:     In the selection, Naomi lost her husband. Ten years later, her sons died. that left her and her daughter in laws by themselves. Naomi decides to go back to her homeland. She tells her daughters in law to leave, however Ruth faithfully went with her. Difficulties effect many friendships. They can make us angry and mad while trying to be nice to that friend.

Week 6: Wednesday

Judges 16:22-31 : In this selection, Samson died. He was first put in between two pillars. He wanted revenge on the Philistines. He asked God to give him back his strength. After he regained his strength, he pushed the two pillars aside and died with the Philistines. I understand God's patience very well. He waits for us to invite him in our hearts even when we have refused several times.

Week 6: Tuesday

Judges 16:1-21: In the selection, Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah. She was paid by the Philistines to find the secret of Samson's power. Samson kept lying to her until he could not take her begging any more. He finally told her his secret. A situation where I was flirting with disaster was when I kept on going on the internet and getting onto things I was not suppose to. I regret doing it now.

Week 5: Friday

Judges 14:1-20: In this selection, Samson wanted to marry a Philisten girl. He also killed a baby lion with his bare hands. Wow! That is extremely strong. Although Samson liked his wife, he gave her to one of his companions. I usually consider my parent's wisdom. They are Godly people who have been through many things. If they say not to do something, 9/10 they are right.

Week 5: Thursday

Judges 13:1-25: In the selection, the Isrealites made God mad again. An angel came to a lady who couldnt have a baby. The angel said that she would have a son. He also told he not to drink any wine. I need more discipline in every part of my life. My life will never be perfect and will always need correction.

Week 5: Wednesday

Judges 7:1-25:  In the selection,  God had Gideon to take some of the men away. He told them however was afraid to go home 22,000 men left. Wow! They were probably forced to join the army ,because they left fast. An area in my life that I need to trust God more is knowing that he cares for me. The devil tells lies to all people that God is not listening. Even though he does that, I know my God is with me and cares for me.

Week 5: Tuesday

Judges 6:1-40:  In the selection, God was mad at the Isrealites. They sinned against him. An angel appeared to Gideon and told him to deliver them from the hand of the Midianites. God also told him to destroy the alter that his father made for Baal. So he did, and the people were mad at this!!!! Examples of obedience in my life would be my dad. We were about to go on vacation, but God told him that we could'nt go. That is true obedience.

Week 5: Monday

Judges 4:4-24: In the selection, Jael killed Sisera. He received some warm milk and rest. While resting ,Jael killed him by driving a tent peg through his temple. People know that you care about them if you take your time and money to do something for them. Also, when doing  this, a good heart is another sign in showing that you care for someone.

Week 4: Thursday

Joshua 23-1:16: In the selction, Joshua, who was an old man, showed how God brought them out of disaster. He said that when they take over the rest of the land the Lord has promised them ,they should not take anything from that land. They should not marry into the tribes nor bow to their gods. The warning I most need to obey is all of them. When God tells us not to do something, it our responsibility to not do it.

Week 4: Tuesday

Tuesday: Joshua 7:1-26:  In the selection, Achan had sinned. He stole some forbidden treasure. He took a robe and silver. In return for his disobedience, he was stoned and burned. Yikes! I wouldn't like a punishment like that!!! A strong punishment that I got is when my mom got mad at me for being disrespectful. She got a switch off the tree and spanked me until she got tired!! I ,to this day, never go far in disrespecting my momma.

Week 4: Monday

Monday:Joshua 5:13-6:27: In the selection, God told Joshua how to take the land of Jericho. He did as he was told. After the walls came down, they killed every living thing. Then they burned the city to the ground. Whoever built on the land was to give up his oldest and youngest son. I am very serious about God using me. I want God to use me any way that I can.
